Acne develops in stages. If we allow the acne to grow in the third stage, it may burst and also leave permanent scars. To understand how acne can be stopped to grow until the second or third phase, it is important to know more about the later stages of acne.

Blackheads and whiteheads are first stages of acne. In later stages, which operate as a papule, pustule, nodule and cyst. We will learn more about them.

What is the papule - a slightly elevated papule is a lesion that is stable. Papules are usually less than 5 mm.

What is a pustule-pustules are filled with pus, which contains dead cells, white cells and bacteria. Pustules are fragile and are prone to rupture. Pustules are dome-shaped and contain the hair in the middle, when they form the sebaceous follicle. Pustules, cysts can progress.

What is a nodule, the nodule is an inflamed lesion that extends into the deeper layers of the skin. Papule and nodule shows a dome-shaped papule. Nodules can cause scarring, because they can damage the internal tissues and skin.

What is a cyst, a cyst is a severe form of acne that is filled with bacteria, white blood cells and dead skin. Cysts can be very painful and extend inside the skin damaging the skin tissue. Any acne damages the skin tissue can form scars.

For these forms of acne, it is always best to consult a dermatologist and get treated not only to cure acne fast, but also stop scarring as much as possible. Acne and Birth Control

For some female patients, treatment-resistant acne is caused by excessive production of hormones called androgens. With extra androgens in your system, your sebaceous glands go full speed - and the fact that your acne. Several clues can help the doctor identify the acne that can be influenced by hormones, the acne that appears in adults, for the first time, acne flares before menstrual cycle, irregular menstrual cycles, hirsutism (excessive growth of hair in unusual places) and high levels of certain androgens in the blood.

Adult women and teenage girls that acne has resisted treatment with antibiotics or topical retinoids may be candidates for hormonal therapy. When the patient's acne is identified as hormonally active, your doctor may prescribe a variety of treatments, or perhaps a combination of several different medications, "Combination therapy" is often the best approach for this type of acne. Here are some common components of treatment with hormonal acne, but be sure to consult your doctor before using any of the remedies listed here.

Acne / Birth pills - pills. Birth control pills (a combination of estrogen and progestin taken orally) are often prescribed for hormonal acne. Low doses of estrogen help suppress the androgens produced by the ovaries and the recent progestational agents, including desogestrel and norgestimate are less androgenic than those found in older formulations. While only Ortho Tri-Cycle and Estro-Step are currently FDA approved for this indication, experts agree that low dose contraceptives improve acne regardless of which formula is used. Talk to your gynecologist to find the formula for you. Although side effects are rare, some women experience brown spots or melasma (hyperpigmentation) on the skin. These can be treated with topical bleaching agents.

Pill against acne / Birth - The anti-androgens. In combination with the pill, even doctors may prescribe an anti-androgen, these substances inhibits the production of androgens by the ovaries and adrenal glands and help prevent existing androgens causing excessive oil production. Spironolactone, a drug against high blood pressure with anti-androgenic properties, has been very effective in the treatment of acne. Side effects can include breast tenderness, menstrual irregularities (in women not using oral contraceptives), headache and fatigue, as it is also a diuretic, you may experience frequent urination as well.

NOTE: Spiranolactone is tetrogenic and can cause feminization of a male fetus. If you are sexually active and not taking "the pill", it is imperative that you use another method.

Inflammation can develop your pustules on materials containing semi-liquid or liquid consisting of white blood cells (which are dead because of the acne bacteria that infects named as Propionibacterium acnes), dead cells and bacteria active or inactive. This can lead to more severe acne called cysts. In such situations, you can use the help of a dermatologist or skin.

What causes acne? It is difficult to determine exactly what may have caused your acne infection and the reasons differ from case to case. Studies indicate that skin disease can be caused by many factors, such as poor diet, stress, climatic factors and hormonal changes and may be influenced by genetics.

Medically, acne begins the formation of hardened sebum or the oily substance secreted by the skin through the sebaceous glands. This, then, is full acne-infected bacteria, which in turn will trigger the immune system to release white blood cells to prevent the attack of bacteria. When this happens, the dead cells of bacteria and white blood cells accumulate in the hair follicles mixed with fragments of skin and dead skin particles, which then ignite damage.

Most mild cases of acne can be treated with more medication against acne. They are generally topical medications that you apply on your skin for the treatment of acne.
